Love Your Neighbor is a free, family-friendly afternoon of food, music, and conversation, open to everyone regardless of faith, color, or background.
It's what Murfreesboro looks like when we choose each other. The first downtown Love Your Neighbor took place in 2018 — at the very spot where a hate rally had been planned a year earlier — and it has grown into one of our flagship events every year since, aside from a two-year pause during COVID.
What we do
Love Your Neighbor showcases the diversity of our community on the downtown square, with food, music, and conversation for all ages.
Held every October, Love Your Neighbor moved downtown in 2018 to the very spot where a planned 2017 hate rally was supposed to take place — the same rally that Murfreesboro Loves formed to answer — turning that site into an annual celebration of community instead.

Organized by MMY with partners including the Murfreesboro Cold Patrol, the festival began in 2015 and has been held downtown every October since 2018, featuring cultural booths, performances, service projects, and dialogue. It is free, open to everyone, and one of the most visible interfaith events in the region.
